Turd Evolution
A downloadable game
Inspired by Tapps Technology's iconic mobile clicker game Cow Evolution, Turd Evolution has you merging dung to create bigger and more mutated droppings. Collect points to upgrade gear and discover strange creatures.
This game is dedicated to my friend Michelle who reintroduced me to cow evolution and who inspired the toilet theme :)
Sorry for the ugly user interface, that has always been a struggle for me.
I am a highly inexperienced developer so any feedback is appreciated. I want to make sure that the game feels as smooth as possible to play, however nobody but myself has play-tested it. So if any of the mechanics feel intuitive please let me know!
Make sure to exit by holding the escape key. Otherwise the game won't save :P
This is also my first time implementing a save system to a game, so if you experience any hiccups relating to save files getting deleted or corrupted, let me know so I can both fix the issue and help recover any lost progress.
Please contact me if you encounter any crashes or bugs.

Dude, this is way better than it has any right to be. Great style, awesome fart noises. Everything seems to work as far as I can tell, I even quit and reloaded a couple times and that hasn't fucked up yet. I do have a little constructive feedback though:
See if you can make the mouse target behavior more consistent. For a singleclick, decide whether you want everything on that spot to get the click or only the top thing. I vote for singleclicks of infinite depth personally. For mousedown dragging, I think it's best if it always grabs whatever is drawn on top. It's a little infuriating when you go to grab a big obvious thing and get the invisible tiny thing that was hidden behind it.
The plunger seemed off to me. Not that it shouldn't be there, it just didn't really add much to the game the way it is now. All the other upgradeable things present themselves to you during gameplay, so you know what they are when perusing the upgrade shop. The plunger does too, but after you quit and reload and well...I played this for about an hour in which time I had unlocked all the upgrades except the mysterious plunger, then unlocked them too because what else are points for, and had made the Great Deity and leveled it a couple more times confirming that fruits don't seem to affect the Holy Shit. Not til this point did I exit and reload to check that saving works and AHA! That's what the plunger does. I did discover that you can just buy turds, so the plunger isn't quite completely useless, but it's only not useless if the way you like to play games is by just checking in once in a while to click the level up button. That might come down to a matter of personal preference, but to me, it seemed like by the time I stumbled across the plunger I felt like I had already discovered and enjoyed all the wonderful ideas the game had to offer. If there were more gameplay-related unlockables to use all those plunger points on after the first hour, it would make more sense. Or, forget the plunger and just let the game be the short and sweet experience that it is.
I feel bad now about how long that paragraph looks, so I'll end saying I really love how each new level of the game snuck in. It took my brain making 2 or 3 pairs of round yellow turd go away before I noticed a new button appeared and they had gone somewhere. Super cool!
